Canella Dominates Setting Two Records

Chatham’s Quinn Canella dominated his races at the Athletics Ontario Track and Field Championships.

Racing in the midget boys division, Canella set two records, one in the 1,200 metres, finishing in 3:14.97. His other record was in the 2,000 metres, finishing in 5:55.74. Canella won both races, breaking the previous records by less than half a second in each case.

Canella, who competes for the Windsor Legion Track and Field Club, will also race for the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks this spring.

As a member of the CKSS cross country team, Canella won Thrill on the Hill, and the Kent Championships. He later finished second at SWOSSAA and won an Antique Bronze, for finishing fourth at OFSAA.
