Chatham Maroons Back On Top
After dropping a narrow 3-2 game Saturday, the Chatham Maroons regained a series lead over the Lambton Shores Predators with a 4-1 win Sunday at Memorial Arena in front of 1000 fans.
Similar to game one, the Maroons used a strong first period to sink their opponent. Brennan Feasey opened the scoring with back to back goals roughly four minutes apart to put Chatham up 2-0. Feasey’s first came with the man advantage.
Kyle Brothers would answer back for Lambton Shores, but Chatham wasn’t done in the first as Michael Levesque scored with less than a minute to go make the score 3-1 heading into the second.
Killing a penalty in the second period, Trevor Richardson continued his strong series on home ice, scoring a shorthanded goal, with assists going to Michael Verboom and Steven Szekesy.
Chatham peppered the Lambton Shores net in the game as Predators goalie Brandon Campbell faced 47 shots in the game.
The series now returns to Lambton Shores for game four on Tuesday.
