Maroons down Lambton Shores, 5-2

Brennan Feasey had two points to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 5-2 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Lambton Shores faces elimination next time out.

Chatham stifled the Predators’ power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Maroons’ offense rang up 40 shots on Lambton Shores’ net.

Chatham additionally got points from Michael Verboom, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Chatham also got a goal from Trevor Richardson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Evan Mascaro, who had two, Sean Myers, who had three, and Morris Branden and Nate Pietens, who each chipped in one.

The Predators were helped by Tanner Ferguson, who grabbed one goal. Ferguson scored 18:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lambton Shores. Kyle Brothers provided the assist. Ryan Rontondi also scored for Lambton Shores. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Matt Ross and Adam Arseneault, who contributed one a piece.

Chatham’s Darien Ekblad stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Maroons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brandon Campbell made 35 saves for Lambton Shores on 39 shots. The Predators incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
