Only days after being defeated 6-2 and finding their best-of-seven series tied 2-2, the Chatham Maroons handed the Strathroy Rockets a 6-2 loss of their own, and regained a series lead.

The win, was in no small part due to the play of second year forward Eric Palazollo. A participant in this year’s GOJHL Top Prospects game, Palazollo scored twice, including the game winner, and added two assists in the victory.

Trevor Richardson and Sean Myers both scored in the first seven minutes of the game to get the Maroons rolling. Stuart King would score for Strathroy next, continuing the Rockets’ dominance with the man advantage. Before the first frame was out however, Palazollo would score to regain Chatham’s two goal lead heading for the second.

In the second period, captain Sean Myers scored again, while Palazollo notched his second goal as well.

Blake O’Neill scored for Strathroy midway through the third, but Brennan Feasey answered back quickly for the Chatham Maroons, closing out the scoring in the win.

Chatham pelted the Strathroy net firing 56 shots in the game.

Chatham will have the chance to close out the Strathroy Rockets on the road Saturday at 7:30pm.
