Bobcats Defeat UCC To Open Rugby Season

The Blenheim Bobcats defeated the UCC Lancers in the season opener for girls high school rugby Monday. Blenheim defeated UCC convincingly 38-13.

Breanne Nicholas, who has been a stalwart for the Bobcats throughout her high school career, paced her Blenheim team scoring four tries, and kicking four converts.

Amber Nicholas and Jessica Gardiner also scored tries for the Blenheim Bobcats, while Gabby Desbiens and Sheridan Rogers scored UCC’s tries in the loss.

The game was a rematch of the past two Kent girls rugby finals, with Blenheim standing as defending champions. Blenheim will host UCC Monday April 22.
