Cyclones Host OHF Championships This Weekend

Chatham, Ontario – The Chatham Kent Cyclones have been awarded the Atom AAA Ontario Hockey Federation Championship Tournament for the 2012-13 season. The Atom AAA OHF Tournament will feature 5 teams, 2 each from the Alliance and OMHA and 1 from the GTHL.

Included in this group, will be the host, Chatham-Kent Cyclones Atom AAA team.

“The 2002 age group is a mixture of top talent kids from former OMHA Championship teams. There are high expectations from them at this year’s OHF Championships but I’m sure they’ll be up to the task,” said Don Britton, Cyclones Major Atom Coach.

The OHF Championship will feature a weekend full of events starting with a kick off banquet on Thursday night. Games will commence on Friday and play through to Sunday when the Provincial Champion will be crowned. All games will be played at the Thames Campus Arena.

The local Chatham-Kent Cyclones will face the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs Friday night at 7:30pm, immediately following the opening ceremonies, which take place at 6:45pm.

Saturday, Chatham-Kent plays the Oakville Rangers at 11:15am, followed by the Toronto Jr. Canadiens at 4:00pm.
