Investigation Possible After OHL Relocation Leak

Chatham-Kent council is not happy that a confidential leak of the information hit social media and the news last week regarding a possible relocation of an OHL franchise to Chatham-Kent

South Kent Councillor Art Stirling entered the notice of motion at April 8th’s Chatham-Kent Council meeting looking to examine how and why details of the Municipality’s discussions with a possible OHL franchise were released to the Chatham Daily News.

According to the Municipal Act, closed session meetings are not open to the public, and the information within these meetings is to be held in confidence by council members.

The issue will be discussed further at a future Chatham-Kent Council meeting.
