Jamieson Golf Tour Growing This Season
The Jamieson Golf Tour, Chatham-Kent and Essex’s premier youth golf tour, will grow this season with the addition of a college division at several stops.
“The Jamieson Tour has introduced a Collegiate division for young women and men 19-22 years of age as of May 31,” the tour website posted this spring.
The traditional Junior Tour allowed boys and girls, aged 13-18 to compete, however this year will be open to older competitors. To participate on the tour, golfers must live in Kent or Essex County’s, or be a member of a golf course located in these counties.
Blenheim Golf Course will welcome one of the new collegiate stops on the Jamieson Tour June 15, 2013. This year’s tour will feature ten dates, six of which will also include the new collegiate division.
Ridgetown Golf Course will also host a stop on this year’s tour July 24, however the Ridgetown stop will not feature the new college division. Last year, Ridgetown’s Crawford McKinlay, who is committed to an NCAA golf scholarship with Wayne State University, won the Ridgetown stop, while Chatham’s Paul Seward won the event at Sutton Creek in Essex.
The tour finale is August 15 at Essex.
