Jones Scores, Brodie Gets Bigger Role
Facing the Calgary Flames, Jones, playing on a line with first overall pick Nail Yakupov, scored a first period marker, with assists going to Yakupov and defenseman Justin Schultz. The goal was Jones’ second of the season.
In the third period, Yakupov netted his seventh of the year, with Jones picking up an assist.
On the other side of the ice, Dresden’s TJ Brodie is seeing an increased role with the Calgary Flames. The young defender was second on the Calgary Flames in ice time, logging 23:53, only 7 seconds less than Dennis Wideman.
Brodie is expected to see more time in key situations for the Flames following the trade of Jay Bouwmeester to the St. Louis Blues.
