Maroons Facing Elimination

The Chatham Maroons dropped game four of their best-of-seven GOJHL Western Conference final against the London Nationals Wednesday night 4-0.

After playing to a scoreless first period, Derek Todosichuk got the Nationals on the board first at 2:03 of the second period.

Aaron Dartch would score on the powerplay to put London ahead 2-0 heading into the third period.

In the third, the Maroons battled hard, but were unable to find the scoresheet. In desperation, the team pulled netminder Darien Ekblad, but inevitably allowed two empty net goals from Jonathan Sims and Paul Hopkins.

London goalie Taylor Edwards stopped all 26 shots he faced in the win.

Game 5 is Thursday night at 7:00pm at Chatham Memorial Arena. If Chatham loses, they will be eliminated and the London Nationals will advance for the second straight season to the Sutherland Cup.
