Brodie Excited To Start Worlds With Canada
Dresden’s TJ Brodie takes to the ice this week donning the maple leaf for the first time in his career, representing Canada at the 2013 IIHF World Hockey Championships.
Brodie, who arrived in Stockholm, Sweden following his NHL season with the Calgary Flames says the team will be hard at work preparing for their first game against Denmark May 4.
“I think we have a couple practices before the tournament starts, right now it’s just going in and trying to work hard and play well,” said Brodie about the team’s first few days in Stockholm.
Excited to get going, Brodie also took time to talk about the support he knows he has back in Canada from his family and friends,
“Everyone back home, the support I’ve always got, it’s pretty incredible to have that many people support you and watch, and I couldn’t do it without them.”
Following their opener against Denmark, Canada will play Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Belarus, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia in round robin play.
