Chatham Sports Hall of Fame Names 2013 Nominees

The Chatham Sports Hall of Fame listed their 16 nominees for the 2013 induction ceremony..

In the Athlete-Modern category, Jamie Jefferson, Derek Krete, Tyson Parry, and Marcia Thiesen were nominees.

Jean Crowston, Peter L. Gilbert, Ron Johnston and Brian Lancaster were listed as the candidates for the Athlete-Legend category.

As Builders, Martin Aarts, Bertha and Charlie Eastcott, Jim Maynard and Chirp Morris are on this year’s ballot.

Finally, the Team nominees are the 1977-78 major midget hockey team, 1986-87 Moose Lodge major peewee hockey team, 1987 McDonald’s peewee baseball team, and the 1992-93 John McGregor Secondary School girls basketball team.

Voting will occur throughout June, with the 2013 Chatham Sports Hall of Fame class being announced by July 5. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place September 12 at the Chatham WISH Cenre.
