Senior boys soccer

The Wallaceburg Tartans pounded the Tilbury Titans yesterday 8-2. Brayden Fischer and Casey McGee each scored a pair of goals, while Garth Denys, Trent Reaume, Kevin Kellet and Lucas Allaer all scored goals as well.

C-K hammered the L-K Cardinals 10-0.

Senior girls soccer

C-K blanked the Cards 7-0.

OHL

The Knights have their backs against the wall. Game 5 goes tonight in London, with the Barrie Colts holding a 3-1 series lead in the OHL championship.

World Hockey Championships

Team Canada topped Sweden 3-0 yesterday. TJ Brodie was even on the night with two shots on goal. The Canadian squad faces Belarus today at 2:15 p.m.

Stanley Cup Playoffs

Ottawa 6 at 1 Montreal – The Habs were sent packing. Cory Conacher led the way with 2 goals for the Sens, as they ousted the Canadiens in 5 games.

NY Islanders 0 at 4 Pittsburgh – Tomas Vokoun made 31 saves for the shut out.

Minnesota 1 at 5 Chicago – The Blackhaws move on to the next round, ousting the Wild in 5 games…

No action last night in the NBA playoffs.

Detroit 4 at 5 Washington

Toronto 4 at 5 Tampa Bay 10 innings – Brad Lincoln walked Luke Scott with two outs and the bases loaded.. for the walk-off walk.

Auto Racing

Fan balloting for South Buxton Raceway’s Best Appearing Cars takes place this Saturday during the night’s racing action as well as at an afternoon viewing party. Several race cars from South Buxton’s five divisions will be on display at the Tirecraft location on Richmond Street in Chatham from noon to 4 p.m., where ballots will be available.The grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.Winners of the fan vote will be announced on May 18.
