Davies, Butler, Baker Win Junior Tennis Tournament

The Chatham Tennis Club hosted their first Junior Tournament of the season on Sunday, May 5 with 21 elementary and high school students participating.

In the Gold Division, featuring advanced elementary and high school students, the Championship match was won by Ben Davies over Aiden Poole, 6-1. The Consolation match was won by Evan Thibert, who outlasted Alin Dovencescu, 6-4.

In the Silver Division, comprised of elementary school students who are experienced tournament players, Logan Butler defeated Olivia Lozon 6-4 in the Championship Final match. In the Consolation Final match, it was Nolan Thibert over Lauren Ouimet, 6-3.

Nine players participated in the Bronze (Rookie) Division, which is for elementary school students who are beginning tournament play this summer. Play in this division was double knock out elimination and Ryan Baker finished first with 5 wins and 0 losses. Second place went to Tom Bondy who put together a 2-2 record. Tied for third was Brady Garrow at 2-2 and Samantha Lozon at 3-2. Emma Landriault finished fifth at 2-2, with sixth place going to Natalie Little at 1-2.

The next CTC Junior Tournament is a doubles event on Sunday, May 26 at the Chatham Tennis Club, 287 McNaughton Avenue West (at Tecumseh Public School).
