Miles away from Wallaceburg, two local boys are lighting the lamp in the OLA Junior A lacrosse loop this season. Equivalent to hockey’s OHL, the OLA is the pinnacle of Junior Lacrosse in Ontario.

Wallaceburg’s Jordan Durston and Zach Herreweyers are enjoying spectacular seasons with the Six Nations Arrows and Peterborough Lakers respectively.

Durston currently sits fourth on the Six Nations Arrows in points, with 6 goals and 6 assists in 5 games. In that span, the Arrows are a perfect 5-0, sitting first overall in the OLA.

In 8 games this season with his hometown Wallaceburg Red Devils, Durston is the league leader, with 61 points.

Herreweyers, who started his season late after competing in the NCAA tournament with the Loyola University Greyhounds, has 5 goals and 2 assists in 3 games for the Peterborough Lakers.

Last season with Peterborough, Herreweyers scored 69 points in 16 games en route to being named the league’s rookie of the year.
