Wallaceburg’s Jesse Gross will be returning to the cage for his next MMA bout, May 11 in Halifax, as a part of Extreme Cage Combat 17: Rise of Champions.

Gross, who is 7-3 in his professional career, will be fighting Canada’s 4th ranked Featherwight, Tristan Johnson. Gross is currently Canada’s 10th ranked Featherweight, but has only competed in one fight, a convincing victory, in the division.

Training out of Adrenaline Training Centre in London, Jesse “The Ghost” Gross is returning to the cage for the first time in 2013, after crushing Seiji Sugiman-Marangos in front of a large crowd in October at the Score Fighting Series in Sarnia.

“I’m fighting at 145 now. This is probably where I should have been the whole time,” Gross said following his first bout as a Featherweight.

Gross, similar to fellow Chatham-Kent fighter Chad Laprise, was forced to head outside Ontario for his next fight, after the MMA scene stalled in the Province. Laprise will fight in Alberta this July, while Gross’ fight will take place at the Halifax Forum, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
