Konecny Signs With 67s
The Centre, a former Chatham-Kent Cyclones star, will be joined by Troy Henley, the 20th overall selection in this years draft when the 67s hit the ice for training camp, and on their roster next season.
“We’re delighted to officially welcome Travis and Troy to the 67’s family,” said Chris Byrne, Head Coach and General Manager of the Ottawa 67s in an official team news release. “Both players will be key building blocks for our team and I’m sure our fans will enjoy seeing them in action for the next several seasons.”
After moving from Chatham-Kent a few seasons ago, Konecny played for the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs, wheere he led his team to an Alliance Hockey championship this past season. Konecny scored 53 goals and recorded 114 points in 54 games this year with the Chiefs.
Other Chatham-Kent draft picks Trent Fox (Erie Otters), Brendan Johnston (Windsor Spitfires), Drew Marlatt (Windsor Spitfires), and James McEwan (Guelph Storm) remain unsigned, but will attend their team’s training camps this summer.
