UCC Holds First In High School Soccer

The UCC Lancers held on to first overall in the boys and girls KCSSAA high school soccer leagues.

In the girls game, facing the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks, UCC’s Kelsey Reis scored the school’s lone goal, while Brooke Armstrong scored for CKSS, as the teams played to a 1-1 draw.

UCC is currently in first place, with a 5-0-1 record, while CKSS can match the Lancers with a win in their final game against Wallaceburg.

In boys action, UCC improved to 6-1, defeating second place CKSS 1-0. Mitch Hakker scored the lone goal of the game, while Josh Pickering recorded the shutout in net for the Lancers.

John McGregor tied Wallaceburg 4-4, Tilbury and Chatham Christian played to a 1-1 draw, while Pain Court defeated Dresden 3-1 in other boys soccer action. On the girls side, Wallaceburg shutout John McGregor 6-0, while Pain Court down Dresden 4-1.
