20th Annual Jack Parry Awards Thursday

The 2013 Dr. Jack Parry Award Ceremony will take place Thursday, June 13, at 7pm in the Ursuline College theatre.

Annually awarded to the top graduating student-athlete from across Chatham-Kent, the award is entering its 20th year.

Each school from across Chatham-Kent nominates both a male and female athlete for the award, with Wallaceburg’s Shauney Fischer, and John McGregors Alexander Goldoni winning last year. Fischer moved on to play OUA basketball for York University.

The 2013 female Jack Parry nominees are: Megan Fleming (Blenheim), Katryna Stronks (Chatham Christian), Sydney Holmes (Chatham-Kent), , Sarah Carleton (John McGregor), Allison Goetheyn (Lambton-Kent), Cassandra Faubert (Pain Court), Jillian Hogg (Ridgetown), Aryn Finley (Ursuline College), and Alicia Baertsoen (Wallaceburg). Tilbury did not present a female candidate.

The 2013 nale Jack Parry nominees are: Jared Hansen (Blenheim), Josh Norg (Chatham Christian), Tanner Emery (Chatham-Kent), Drew Gifford, (John McGregor), Alex Kiar (Lambton-Kent), Andrew Woodall (Pain Court), Kurtis Gosnell (Ridgetown), Adam Tetreault (Tilbury), Luke Allin (Ursuline College), and Troy Babcock (Wallaceburg).
