Chatham Diamonds Named Midget All-Stars
The Chatham Diamonds Midget baseball team had four players named to the first annual Sunparlour-Western Counties Midget All-Star Game.
Chatham’s Eric Oulds, Josh Daly, Dylan Webster, and Austin McClinton were named All-Stars for their Diamonds team. Each Western Counties team selected four players, while each Sunparlour team selected two players to participate in the first annual game.
The Chatham Midget Diamonds play in a 12 team division, featuring 8 Sunparlour teams and 4 Western County teams.
The game will take place Sunday, June 30 at Rotary Park in Chatham.
The Midget Diamonds defeated Tecumseh 1-0 last week. Webster pitched 6 shutout innings allowing only one hit, while Daly pitched one shutout winning in the game. Last weekend, the Diamonds participated in a tournament going 0-3. Webster pitched in an opening game 4-3 loss to Essex, also hitting a single, while Daly had a triple, and Eric Oulds had a single and a double. McClinton pitched well in their second game of the tournament, a 6-4 loss to Cambridge, and collected a single. Oulds and Daly also had singles in the game. In the final game of the tournament, a 12-4 loss to Ilderton, Webster slapped a double.
