Desjardins Wins OFSAA Gold, Other Locals Medal
Pain Court’s Morgan Desjardins captured an OFSAA gold medal in the midget girls discuss event Friday in Oshawa.
Desjardins, the first ever Pain Court Patriotes athlete to win an OFSAA gold, threw 32.86 metres. The throw was nearly 10 metres farther than the distance she won Kent with weeks prior.
Desjardins also finished 10th in the midget girls shot put division on Saturday.
Anastasia Maslak of UCC took home an OFSAA silver medal Thursday with a triple jump distance of 11.14 metres in the Junior Girls division.
CKSS’ Quinn Canella won a bronze medal in the midget boys 1500m race, finishing less than 2 seconds behind the winner. Canella also finished 4th in the 3000m race. Grade 9 teammate Felix Marchand had an impressive OFSAA competition, finishing 6th in the 100m hurdles, and 5th in the 300m hurdles.
CKSS Junior Boy runner Josh Kellier grabbed a 4th place finish in the 1500m event, and a 6th in the 3000m.
UCCs Clare Thompson had a 5th place finish in the Junior Girls long jump, soaring 5.10m in her final jump of the day.
