Durston, Shepley Sharp Shoot With Arrows
Wallaceburg’s Jordan Durston and Joel Shepley were sharp shooters in their first official game with the Six Nations Arrows, after signing to finish the season with the Junior A lacrosse club last week.
Durston assisted on the first goal of the game, a tally by Johnny Powless. Midway through the first period, Shepley then struck, scoring with assists going to Powless and Brendan Bomberry. Before the period was out, Shepley would grab his second point of the period, another assist, this time with Shane Simpson finishing the play.
In the second period, it was Durston’s turn to shine, as the sniper scored two goals in less than five minutes.
The Wallaceburg duo would remain off the board for the next twenty minutes, until Shepley scored his second of the game, the final goal for the Six Nations Arrows in their 15-7 win over the Barrie Lakeshores.
Both players finished with two goals and an assist in the game.
The Six Nations Arrows will take on the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves this Thursday on the road, before hosting the Braves next Sunday. The Wallaceburg Red Devils regular season ended last week.
