Enviro Clean Cougar of the Week: Brad Wild
Brad Wild has been selected as the Chatham-Kent Cougars Player of the Week, sponsored by EnviroClean Car & Dog Wash, for the week ending June 9.
Wild led the Chatham-Kent Cougars Varsity Bantam team to a 37-6 win over the Huronia Stallions, contributing on both sides of the ball, and demonstrating other intangibles that earned him praise from Bantam Coach Chris Daly.
“Brad Wild had an amazing game and was the leader of our team against Huronia. Not only did he lead us in stats but he was our captain on the field keeping kids focused and ready,” said Daly. “He showed great sportsmanship and leadership qualities,” continued Daly in reference to Wild helping his own teammates and opposing players off the field following injuries.
Last Fall’s Cougars House League Offensive MVP after moving to Chatham from Oakville, wild had 8 carries for 122 yards, 6 tackles, 2 sacks, kicked 4 extra points, and had a 19-yard field goal to lead the Bantam Cougars to victory. Wild also completed the kick offs and punts for the Bantam Varsity Cougars.“We feel very fortunate to have the Wild’s join our Cougavelrs Football Organization,” said club President Sel Jordan. “Brad Wild comes from Oakville, where he played house league football. So he came to our club with football experience and it shows. Brad Wild was an MVP of our Cougars House League this year and he is continuing where he left off from the Fall. Congratulations to Brad for being named the Enviro-Clean Cougar player of the week.”
Jordan also praised the contribution Wild’s parents have made to the organization, as both volunteer behind the scenes with the Chatham-Kent Cougars.
Wild now lives in Blenheim where he attends W.J. Baird Public School.
Wild and the Bantam Varsity Chatham-Kent Cougars will travel to Kitchener-Waterloo June 15 to take on the Twin City Predators. The Cougars are now 2-1 on the season.
