Enviro Clean Cougar of the Week: Jake Anderson
Jake Anderson has been selected as the Chatham-Kent Cougars Player of the Week, sponsored by EnviroClean Car & Dog Wash, for the week ending June 16.
Jake Anderson caught 4 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown leading the Chatham-Kent Cougars Junior Varsity team to a 16-13 win over the Twin Cities Predators. Anderson also ran the ball 4 times for 38 yards in the game.
“(Jake) really impressed with the game he had this week,” said JV Cougars head coach Mike Newman.
Anderson, who attends John McGregor secondary school, where he plays both football, and basketball, also earned praise from Chatham-Kent Cougars president Selwyn Jordan,
“Jake Anderson has been a loyal long time Cougar travel football player. He has been part of two Ontario Football Conference Championships and has been a Cougar travel MVP. Jake has a very supportive sports family in Tye and Tina,” said Jordan.
The win moves the Junior Varsity Cougars to 1-2 on the season, however it was their first game with the majority of their roster dressing, as they were waiting for the Kent High School football season to close.
Anderson and the Junior Varsity Chatham-Kent Cougars take on the Forest City Thunderbirds Saturday at 4pm at CKSS back field just before the Varsity Cougar Alumni Classic on Saturday night at 7:30pm.
