Chatham’s Gord Grace ended his eleven year tenure as the Athletic Director for the University of Windsor Lancers this past week, stepping down to pursue other opportunities.

“During Gord’s 11 years at the University of Windsor, our athletics and recreation programs have excelled at both provincial and national levels,” said Michael Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Human Kinetics in a Windsor Lancers media release. “The success of our student athletes in sport and in the classroom has been unprecedented. I would like to thank Gord for his tireless devotion to enhancing the student experience and the pride he has brought to the University of Windsor.”

A graduate of John McGregor Secondary School, Grace was named Director of the Year in 2012 by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

“Thanks to the University for the opportunity and thank-you to the staff and coaches for their commitment and dedication,” said Grace in the release. “I wish our student-athletes, the teams and programs all the best in the future. Go Lancers.”

The Windsor Lancers operate 11 varsity athletic teams in basketball, cross country, hockey, football, volleyball, track and field, golf, and soccer in the OUA and CIS.
