In their opening game Friday against Georgina, the Chatham Diamonds crushed their opposition 18-0. Sam McKinlay and Dakota Vangoethem combined to pitch a no hitter in a 4 inning mercy win, with McKinlay being named game MVP as he tossed 8 strike outs over 3 innings and scored 3 runs and had 2 singles. Jackson Moon, Quinn Erickson, and Brock Whitson were unstoppable at the plate, with Moon scoring 3 runs on 3 singles, Erickson going 3 for 4, and Whitson batting 4 for 4 scoring 2 runs.

Game two of the tournament was another lopsided affair with the Major Mosquito Diamonds defeating Bolton 13-2. Brock Whitson had another dominant game, being named game MVP after batting 3 for 4, scoring 3 runs on a double and 2 singles, and collecting 2 RBI.

Chatham’s third game was played against a tougher Brampton squad, but Chatham came out victorious winning 7-2. Dakota Vangoethem pitched a gem in relief, throwing 3 scoreless innings, and picked up 5 strike outs, en route to being named the game MVP.

In the final against Simcoe, Jackson Moon pitched 6 strong innings, before Nate Rogers closed out the game for Chatham on the mound. Brock Whitson doubled and singled with 2 RBI and scored a run himself in the 4-3 Diamonds win. Morgan Lucier was tournament MVP for his strong play behind the plate catching.
