Red Devils Playoff Hopes Up To Others
After dropping their final two games of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse season over the weekend to the Windsor Clippers, the Wallaceburg Red Devils are now left to watching and waiting to see if they will make the 2013 OLA playoffs.
Wallaceburg 10-8 and 14-11 to Windsor, and now sit in a three-way tie for 7th place in the Western Conference with the London Blue Devils and Brampton Excelsiors.
Two of the three teams will make the post season as the top 8 advance, however both Brampton and London have two games remaining, and if both win even a single game, Wallaceburg is out.
Even one of the teams, however, loses both, the Red Devils will sneak into the playoffs in 8th as they hold the tie breaker over each team after defeating Brampton in their only meeting this year, and going 2-1 against London.
Unfortunately for Wallaceburg, London plays Point Edward, who sits last in the Far West division, and Guelph, who is second from the bottom in the Midwest. Brampton also faces Guelph, who they sit above in the Midwest, and Elora to close out the season. London will play Friday, while Brampton plays Saturday.
