Wallaceburg Trumps Blenheim in OBA Baseball

The Blenheim Bantam OBA team had a tough start to their season, including a 21-0 defeat at the hands of Wallaceburg.

Blenheim was finished at the end of the first half inning giving up 18 runs on 15 hits and registering 7 errors, including 9 runs with 2 outs.

Wallaceburg stats weren’t submitted. Blenheim had cold bats in the game, but Alex Benjamin managed to be the team’s only threat of the day, hitting 2 singles.

In their season opener, Bleneheim fell 17-14 to Forest.

Cody Weiberg pitched 3 innings giving up 6 runs on 4 hits, while registering 2 strikeouts and walked 2. Alex Benjamin pitched 2 innings giving up 4 runs on 1 hit and walked 4, and Connor Boyd pitched 2 innings giving up 7 runs on 1 hit (a double), striking out 2 and walking 7.

Errors were again a problem for Blenehim, as the fielders made 6 errors that made the difference in the game.

At the plate, Alex Benjamin again lead the batting going 3-for-3, all singles, and walked once. Collin Bond knocked a single down the left field line to bring in the first 3 runs and walked at his next 3 plate appearances. Cody Weiberg had 2 singles and walked twice.
