Baker Wins All-Star Game MVP Honours
A group of Chatham Golden Eagles travelled to Oil Springs for the Central Lambton Midget Softball All-Star game. Four Chatham athletes, Sydnee Baker, Hannah Roesch, Kaley Veldboom, and Aliyah Whiteye represented the West, with Baker taking home West MVP honours.
The West was made up of Chatham, Corunna and Oil Springs while the East was made up of Alvinston, Dutton and Glencoe.
The West won 11-1 in a seven inning game. Chatham’s Hannah Roesch was the winning pitcher, pitching the first four innings allowing 0 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. Aliyah Whiteye finished the game allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2.
Baker put in her MVP performance with a stellar showing at the plate. She had 3 singles and a triple as well as 1 RBI. Roesch had a single and 3 RBI’s, while Whiteye and Veldboom had a single each.
