Cougars Fall Short

Chatham-Kent-Cougars-FootballThe Chatham-Kent Cougars Senior Varsity, and Peewee teams struggled to find the win column this weekend.

In the senior game, Gabe Gagner caught a 60 yard reception from Alex Goldoni to go up 6-0 before half in the second quarter. After the extra point was missed, Oakville answered with a TD and an extra point putting the score 7-6 at half.

In the second half, Oakville answered once again with a TD and extra point in the 3rd. The Senior Chatham-Kent Cougars lost 22-15. Nate McIntyre had one pick and Ben Bartlett had a 2 point conversion after Cam Rylett had a TD in the second half.

The Chatham Peewee Cougars lost a hard fought battle with the Forest City Thunderbirds in London on Sunday 27-19.

The offense was lead by another excellent effort from Julian Ferrell who passed for 186 yards on 13-for-23 passing and 2 TDs to 7 different receivers. Ferrell also ran 11 times for 67 yds. Lucas Doyle had 4 carries for 27 yds and 1 TD. Cody Lunn had 4 catches,48 yards and 2 TDs. Ben Barnard made 4 catches for 59 yds and Ethan Jordan had 2 catches for 49 yds.

Defensively Lucas Doyle led the way with 9 tackles. Ethan Ciupka had 7 tackles. Cameron Creechan and Connor Wright each had 6 tackles. Evan Torres made 1 interception. Creechan, Garrette Stonefish and Garren Grant each recovered a fumble.
