Thamesville’s Dane Fox will have his chance to wear an NHL jersey as a member of the St. Louis Blues at the upcoming NHL Prospects tournament in Traverse City, Michigan.

“I have to get quicker on the ice. With my foot being hurt last year, it took a little bit of speed away from me, but I’m training hard now at Competitive Edge, and they are working with me on my explosiveness,” Fox told CKDP.ca about his summer training.

The tournament, which runs from September 5th to 9th, is an opportunity for Fox to showcase himself after going undrafted for the second straight year in the NHL Entry Draft.

Fox scored a career high 19 goals in 37 games last season, despite missing almost half the season with an injured foot. Regardless of his performance at the Prospects Camp, Fox will return to the OHL’s Erie Otters next season, his fifth year in the league.
