Laprise Readying For Bout in Alberta

Chad-Laprise-Bellator-WinWith the MMA market sitting dormant in Ontario, Chatham’s Chad Laprise is readying to take the West by storm as he is set to fight July 20 against Derek Boyle as a part of Xcessive Force Fighting Championship.

“I haven’t fought since October. When this fight came about, I jumped on it,” Laprise told CKSN earlier this year about taking this fight in Grand Prairie, Alberta. “This was the first guy they offered me. They said will you fight Derek Boyle and I was like yep. I didn’t even question it, I said sure right away.”

Larpise’s last fight, was a dominant win against Ainsley Robinson at Bellator 76 in Windsor, last October.

Laprise, who is considered a rising star in the sport with a perfect 6-0 record, also discussed the difficulty of finding a fight locally, and regionally, which necessitated his trip across the country to fight Boyle.

“If you are a guy with one or two fights, promoters will bring you out. But if you are an undefeated guy like me with six wins, they are not going to bring you out to beat up the local guy who is going to sell tickets.”

Fellow Ontario fighter Chris Horodecki will also be fighting on the card.

Continue to follow CKSN for updates on Chad Laprise following his July 20 fight at Xcessive Force FC in Alberta.
