Nicholas Scores In Canadian Win

Blenheim’s Breanne Nicholas scored her first try of the Under 20 Nations Cup, as a member of Team Canada, as the Canadian squad moved to 2-0 in the tournament.

Nicholas scored a second half try for Canada as they defeated the host England convincingly, 43-15.

“What a day for these girls and their rugby career. It doesn’t happen that often that you beat one of the best teams in the world convincingly,” said head coach Sandro Fiorino in a Rugby Canada release.

Canada and Nicholas opened their U20 Nations Cup with a win over the USA 25-15.

Now, Canada will face South Africa in a potential championship preview Wednesday, as they attempt to close out pool play with a perfect record.

Nicholas is a member of the Kent Havoc Rugby Football Club, and helped the Blenheim Bobcats to three consecutive Kent High School championships.
