Pegg Signs With Crimson Tide
Rondeau’s Dominique Pegg has signed her letter of intent to attend the University of Alabama and compete with the Crimson Tide’s gymnastics team.
Pegg, who helped her Canadian Team to a 5th place finish, and was 17th overall individually at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, is a former member of the Blenheim Golden Eagles gymnastics club, and currently lives and competes in Sarnia.
“We’re very excited to have Dom joining us this fall for the 2014 season,” says Crimson Tide gymnastics head coach Sarah Patterson in a University of Alabama release. “She has been on our radar for quite a while and this is a very happy conclusion to a long process. She is an extremely gifted athlete who has competed at the highest level and will help us continue our goal of competing for championships on a yearly basis.”
Pegg will join a nationally dominant Crimson Tide team, which won back to back NCAA National Championships in 2011 and 2012.
“I really think it’s quite a blessing that I get to come and not only go to school at the University of Alabama but also represent them by doing what I love,” Pegg said in the Crimson Tide news release. “I had an amazing time competing with my team at the 2012 Olympics, but it is time for a new chapter in my life.”
Pegg will leave for Tuscaloosa to begin training and classes at Alabama August 12.
