Chatham goaltender Joseph Raaymakers has been selected as one of the top 42 prospects from across Canada by the NHLPA, to participate in the third annual AllState All-Canadian Mentorship camp. The Chatham-Kent Cyclones netminder will travel this year to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga from August 6-10 for the intensive, invite only camp, hosted by current and former NHL players.

“The NHLPA has made a strong commitment to sharing the Players’ knowledge and experience with Canada’s youth through the Allstate All-Canadians program. This is our third year in working to develop a program that will help educate not only the 42 bantam-aged players that are directly involved, but also parents and young hockey players across the country,” said Mathieu Schneider, NHLPA Special Assistant to the Executive Director in an official NHLPA release regarding the AllState All-Canadian camp. “The NHL Players and the ambassadors involved are true professionals and have an enormous amount of experience to share through this program.”

Raaymakers, who is entering his OHL draft season as a Minor Midget AAA player, is one of only 13 players from Ontario attending the camp. In the last two years, OHL first overall selections Connor McDavid and Travis Konecny both attended the camp, as well as close to 30 OHL, WHL, and QMJHL first round draft picks.

The camp, which is lead by NHL alumni Gary Roberts, features on-ice and off-ice training, fitness, nutrition, and sports psychology seminars, and culminates with an inter-squad exhibition game which will be televised live on TSN, August 10 at 1pm.

Raaymakers will also be a part of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget team, which plans to host a team from St. Petersburg, Russia, August 28 at Memorial Arena in Chatham.
