Dresden Minor Hockey Association will be honouring one of their own August 26, as they’re set to hold an appreciation night for NHLer TJ Brodie.

Brodie, a Dresden Minor Hockey alumni, will be celebrated with a framed picture of the Calgary Flames defender to be hung in the lobby of Lambton-Kent Memorial Arena beside fellow Dresden hockey legends and NHL alumni Kent Houston and Jeff Jackson.

Brodie is slated to play in one of Calgary’s top two defensive pairings this season after signing a new contract in the off-season. Brodie, who also played for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ organization following his time in Dresden, also represented Canada at the World Championships this spring.

The appreciation night will begin at 6pm, and is the same day as the opening of the Dresden Jr. Kings hockey school.
