Chatham Maroons 2013-2014 Schedule Released

Chatham-Maroons-Jersey-New-DarkThe Chatham Maroons 2013-2014 schedule, along with the rest of the GOJHL’s schedule, was released earlier this week.

The Maroons will open their season in dramatic fashion, facing the same London Nationals team that eliminated Chatham from the GOJHL Western Conference finals last year. Chatham will host London Sunday, September 8 at Memorial Arena. Puck drop for the home opener is 7pm.

The Maroons first road game will be Tuesday September 10 at Lambton Shores. The Lambton Shores Predators featured a contingent of Chatham-Kent talent last season including Ridgetown’s Bryan Boersma, Thamesville’s Dillon Liberty, and Morpeth’s Jim McKinlay. The team is expected to add to that group this season.

September 10’s game will also feature the first game new Chatham Maroons head coach and general manager Mark Davis will face his former Lambton Shores Predators team.

Overall, the GOJHL schedule will feature 662 games across Ontario this winter. “After such an exciting end to the 2012-13 season, fans of the GOJHL certainly will have a lot to look forward to this season,” said GOJHL Commissioner and OHA Executive Director Mark Ellis in a GOJHL release.

Other season highlights include the GOJHL Showcase October 12 in St. Cathernies, and the GOJHL Prospects and All-Star games, which will be hosted by the Golden Horseshoe Conference on December 29.
