Gross, Laprise Fighting At PFC In London
Chatham’s Chad Laprise, and Wallaceburg’s Jesse Gross will be a part of the first professional MMA fights in Ontario in recent months, when the two take part in the Provincial Fighting Championships (PFC) at the Western Fair Agriplex in London, Ontario.
Taking place October 26, both local fighters are excited to be competing close to home, and in the same town they train in.
“Fighting close to home that crowd is going to start roaring, and it’s going to give a lot of extra motivation to a guy who doesn’t need much motivation to go out there and punch people in the face,” said Jesse Gross in a PFC promotional video.
“It’s awesome to be able to fight right in our hometown here in London in front of all of our fans, it’s amazing, it’s almost like a dream come true,” Laprise said in the video.
Laprise is a perfect 7-0 in his professional MMA career, fighting several times under the Bellator umbrella. Gross, who recently moved to the featherweight category, is 8-3 professionally. Both fighters train out of Adrenaline Training Centre in London.
Gross will fight 5-0 Michael Karkula, who has won each of his fights in the opening round by submission, while Laprise’s opponent is yet to be named. Gross will fight Gavin Tucker September 28 in Halifax for an ECC title.
