Gross To Fight For ECC Title

Wallaceburg’s Jesse Gross will take on Gavin Tucker September 28 for the vacant Extreme Cage Combat Featherweight title. The fighters will meet at ECC 18 in Halifax, Nova Scotia next month.

Gross, who recently moved to the featherweight division, has had two convincing wins in the weight class, one at the Score Fighting Series in Sarnia, and the other as a part of the ECC promotion over Tristan Johnson.

“I have no problem going in there and smacking that kid in the teeth because to be honest, he could use it,” Gross said about his upcoming fight with Tucker.

Gross, who is 8-3, with his losses coming up a weight class, will try to hand Tucker his first career loss, as the fighter sits at an impressive 7-0. Five of Tucker’s fights have been with ECC.

Gorss is currently the 4th ranked featherweight fighter in Canada, while Tucker is ranked 7th.
