Ladouceur Wins Maple City Mile
The second annual Maple City Mile was held in Chatham on Labour Day Monday, drawing approximately 100 runners to the event.
London’s David Ladouceur, who is originally from Chatham, won the main event, crossing the finish line first in the 10-mile event, finishing in 1:08.44.
Although organizers were pleased with the event, which aims to support Heart and Stroke, registration was slightly down from last year.
In other divisions, Tilbury’s Dean Schives won the 10k race, finishing in 40:03, while Andrew Flanagan of Port Lambton was the 5k winning runner with a time of 18:56.
