Maroons Among GOJHL Active Career Leaders

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League released a list of active career leaders in statistical categories, and several Chatham Maroons players appeared on the list.

In the active career point leaders category, new acquisition Kyle Brothers (142 points) was the highest Chatham Maroons player, coming in at 6th on the list, although almost all those points were scored as a member of the Lambton Shores Predators. Michael Verboom (122 points) was 9th on the list, scoring all of his career points as a member of the Maroons. Brothers’ former teammate and Lambton Shores captain Adam Arsenault (223 points) is the GOJHL active career leader.

Brothers also appeared on the active career assists list with 92, placing him 5th.

On the blueline, Maroons defender Steven Szekesy found himself on all three statistical lists, placing 3rd in points (72), 6th in goals (11), and 3rd in assists (61). Chatham resident and Maroons veteran Nate Pietens was 6th in career points, with 41.

In net, Darien Ekblad was 2nd in all categories including wins (41), games played (67), saves (1934), and shots faced (2127). Former Blenheim Blades goalie Taylor Speed was 7th in games played (41), and 3rd in wins (28).
