Sharks Devour Flags

Wheatley-Sharks-Jersey-DarkThe Wheatley Sharks devoured the Mooretown Flags Monday night, destroying the visiting team 7-1.

Former Wallaceburg Lakers leading scorer Sam Jasmin opened the scoring for Mooretown, however they wouldn’t find the net again. Before the first period was out, Mike Reid tied the score for Wheatley on the powerplay.

In the second, the Sharks opened the flood gates, with goals from Jon Woelk, Eric Rivard, Brendon Anger, and Dylan Enns.

The third period was much of the same, as Austin Fontaine and Sabastian Kanally scored.

The Sharks featured seven different scorers in the game, while Jon Woelk also had two assists, giving the veteran a three point evening.

Netminder Conner MacKinnon, who played two seasons ago for the Chatham Maroons, stopped 25 of 26 shots he faced in the win. MacKinnon was named the game’s second star, while Woelk took home first star honours, and minor call up Dylan Enns was the third star of the game.
