Suisham May Be Ready For Monday
After suffering a hamstring injury before Sunday’s game, Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham may be ready for action when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football this week.
Suisham was forced to kick only once Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers were unable to generate much offense in their 16-9 season opening loss to the Tennessee Titans.
“Shaun Suisham sustained a hamstring injury in the game,” said Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin in a press conference Tuesday. “It’s not a significant one. He has a chance. We are going to work him out at the latter part of the week to determine his availability.”
Although Tomlin believes the extra day will help Suisham to be ready, the team is working with backup Shayne Graham in case Suisham is unavailable. “Shayne Graham is a kicking option for us,” said Tomlin. “In the meanwhile, we will work with Graham. I think the extra day of work is going to help us in some of these areas.”
As a team, Tomlin was not pleased with the Steelers performance in their season opening loss, and is looking for better execution this week.
“Much like I said after the game, obviously it wasn’t good enough of a performance. Not all bad but obviously not good enough. I thought in the midst of it, as miserable as it was at times, we had opportunities. We didn’t capitalize on them.”
Kickoff Monday is 8:40pm.
