A Lambton-Kent Composite School graduate, Shelton is one of the top offensive threats this season on the Belle River Canadiens, and was their player of the month nominee for September.
Below are James Shelton’s answers to CKSN’s Five Questions.
1. What is your career sports highlight/top memory?
My career sports highlight, I would have to say is trying out for U17 Team Ontario. The experience was amazing and playing against other players that are now in the NHL just makes the experience that much better.
2. Who is your favourite professional sports team and athlete?
My favourite professional sports team is the Ottawa Senators, and my favourite player is Mike Fisher.
3. If you could achieve one thing/goal in sports, what would it be?
One goal I would like to achieve is winning the Schmalz Cup this year.
4. Who has been your biggest sports influence and why?
My biggest influence would definitely be my dad, he has been the one over the past 18 years driving me around everywhere, making sure i had all the stuff i needed, and he pushed me to the best of my abilities. I would not be where I am today without him.
5. What do you love most about playing sports?
I love the competition and intensity of the game. Its also a great way to meet new people.
