Five Questions With Tanner Emery
A linebacker studying Criminology and Criminal Justice, and an alumni of the Chatham-Kent Cougars football program, Emery has 9 solo tackles and 3 assists in 3 games this season.
Most recently, Emery was named Carleton Player of the Game, collecting 7 tackles and a forced fumble in a loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues.
Here are Tanner Emery’s answers to CKSN’s Five Questions:
1. What is your career sports highlight/top memory?
My first interception in football….an amazing feeling!
2. Who is your favourite professional sports team and athlete?
My favourite professional sports team is the Seattle Seahawks and my favourite player is Kam Chancellor.
3. If you could achieve one thing/goal in sports, what would it be?
I believe the pinnacle of my sports career is going to be winning the Vanier Cup.
4. Who has been your biggest sports influence and why?
The biggest influence in my sporting career is my basketball coach, Dave “Grouch” Allin. He was my OBA coach since grade 6 and he was an inspiration to me. He taught me about team work and team commitment. I will be forever grateful to him for his support and leadership.
5. What do you love most about playing sports?
I love to compete! It doesn’t matter at what level. And I love the thrill of winning! But I think most of all I enjoy setting goals and working hard to reach them!
