Nicholas Shines, Leads Western To Playoffs
Nicholas scored two tries for 10-points, and also kicked 5 conversions, totaling another 10-points in the win.
Her 20-points topped all scorers in the game, and game Nicholas a team leading 45-points this season, 5 more than second year Western rugby player Danielle Spice of Oakville.
Fellow Blenheim resident Tegan Williams also scored a try in the win. Nicholas’ 45-points ties her for 5th in the OUA. The rookie, who represented Team Canada this summer, is also a graduate of the Kent Havoc club rugby program in Chatham.
With the victory, Western finishes their regular season second in the Shiels Division with a 3-2 record, sitting behind reigning powerhouse, the Guelph Gryphons.
Western now hosts the Waterloo Warriors October 11 for an OUA quarterfinal playoff game.
