Chatham MPP Rick Nicholls has been named the Sport, Recreation, and Youth Critic by Ontario PC leader Tim Hudak last week.

In his role with the Provincial opposition, Nicholls, who was previously the Deputy Labour Critic, will now be in a position to call into question, and put pressure on Ontario’s government in relation to Sport and Recreation.

Shortly after being named the new Critic, Nicholls Tweeted about the recently announced 2016 NBA All-Starr game to be held in Toronto, “Congratulations to Toronto and the @Raptors, who will be hosting the first NBA All-Star Game outside the US in 2016,” wrote Nicholls, who will now focus on watching the moves of Liberal MPP and Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, the Honourable Michael Chan.

The NDP critic in charge of the similar role, is Paul Miller.

Nicholls, a Chatham resident, representing Chatham-Kent-Essex, was elected in 2011
