Ridgetown Takes Over First
The Ridgetown Royals took over first place in the KCSSAA Kent Senior Girls ‘A’ basketball league, defeating the second place Chatham Christian Flames Tuesday night.
Ridgetown defeated the CCHS Flames 46-21, paced by a huge 18-point performance by Hope Long, helping her team remain perfect, with a 4-0 record. Meredith Goldhawk had 9-points and Tawny Huff had 8-points for Ridgetown in the win, while Amy Bultje drained 10-points for Chatham Christian, who lost their first game of the season and now sit at 3-1.
In Pain Court, the Patriotes kept the Blenheim Bobcats at bay, as Courtney DePass scored 18-points to lead Pain Court to a 41-27 victory.
Emily Uher was the top scorer for Blenheim, with 10-points.
At the Junior level, Ines Duran scored 20-points, topping all scorers on the evening as the Blenheim Bobcats beat the Pain Court Patriotes 48-33.
