Verboom Named September Offensive Player of the Month

Chatham Maroons captain and leading scorer Michael Verboom has been named the GOJHL Western Conference Offensive Player of the Month for September.

In seven games in the month of September, Verboom collected a team leading 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points.

Verboom opened the 2013-2014 season powering the Chatham Maroons to back to back victories, scoring 4-points in the season opener against London, and 5-points in Chatham’s second game against Lambton Shores. Verboom’s 5-points against the Lambton Shores Predators included his first hat trick of the year.

In Chatham’s three September wins, Verboom had multi-point games in each victory.

Last season, Verboom received Offensive Player of the Month honours for the Chatham Maroons in December.

Chatham lost 4-1 to the Leamington Flyers Sunday night with Matt Kenney scoring the lone Chatham goal.

Chatham currently sits sixth in the GOJHL’s Western Conference, and travel to LaSalle Wednesday to face the Vipers.
