Brad MacArthur Named New Green Gaels Head Coach
“I’m delighted that Brad has accepted to be our head coach,” said Green Gaels General Manager Paul Chamois in a team news release. “I’m sure he will provide some continuity to the team while exploring different coaching techniques and philosophies. We are very thankful for all the hard work Jason has put in over the past 12 years into establishing a solid base from which Brad can build, and I am looking forward to working with both Brad and Jason in their new roles with the club.”
MacArthur a former veteran of the National Lacrosse League and a product of Wallaceburg’s Minor Lacrosse system is also the associate coach for Israel’s Mens National Lacrosse team.
The Green Gaels were first in the OLA Junior B MidWest division last season with an 18-1-1 record. MacArthur will have a hard time building on a season in which the Clarington Green Gaels made is all the way to the OLA final before being ousted by Six Nations, but his eyes are locked on a Founders Cup.
“We are looking forward to the upcoming season, and working with our returning group of players,” said MacArthur in the team release. “The organizational goal of competing for the Founder’s Cup never changes, regardless of who has been charged with leading this team.”
